Fixed Asset Inventory
School districts have a great responsibility to use allotted budgets wisely. Asset Services specializes in fixed asset inventory solutions in the educational environment and partners with school districts and universities nationwide providing capital equipment, fixed asset and personal property inventory services.
The Asset Services inventory team will make a sweep through the buildings, and apply a barcode property tag to every fixed asset. All appropriate data pertaining to each asset will be recorded using state-of-the-art barcode data collection terminals. Information includes: location, room, description, manufacturer, serial number, and funding source.
The inventory specialists at Asset Services are highly sensitive to the concerns of educational administrators, teachers, and students. We take great pride in our ability to perform an inventory with little disruption to the educational process. Recently, Asset Services assisted Turner School District with the retrieval of a missing iPad that was ultimately located hundreds of miles away from the district.
At the beginning of the school year, the district implemented a one-to-one iPad initiative for its middle and high school students and unfortunately, one of the iPads made it out of the district. An honest individual found the iPad more than 200 miles away, and was able to quickly return it to the district because of the asset tag on the device. Because the Asset Services inventory occurred at the start of the school year, all of the new devices were captured, and it is through this process that the school district was able to recover the lost iPad and get it back in the hands of the student.
